On February 18, 2014, a big international conference took part in Kiev RUS hotel. There were presented the findings of the “Elder Abuse Prevention in Ukraine” project.

Project Title: Improving Government Accountability Through Older Citizens’ Monitoring in Ukraine (ENPI/2012/308-679)

In the course of the Project we’ve interviewed more than 1400 elder respondents in 14 Ukrainian cities. The findings have been processed and reported in a booklet format.

There was translated and edited a manual on elder abuse revealing and preventing. There was trained a group of 300 volunteers who now reveal the cases of elder abuse and provide support to the victims.

In cooperation with local administrations there were established the commissions on elder abuse prevention and there were worked out the necessary documents.

Magazine “Life Time” was  founded by Ukrainian Charity Organisation “Turbota pro Litnih v Ukraini” (Age Concern Ukraine) in August 2005 by financial support of  International Women’s Club in Kiev (IWCK). The magazine aim is to elucidate the problems and neeeds which have elderly people. This magazine is distributed around Ukraine.
